Dirck van Delen

Dirck van Delen (Heusden, ca. 1605 – Arnemuiden, 16 May 1671) was a Dutch Golden Age painter. According to Houbraken, Van Delen was a student of Frans Hals[1]. In 1626 he moved to Zeeland and became mayor of Arnemuiden. He specialized in architectural studies. His baroque churches were often used as backgrounds for decoration by other painters for the figures, such as Anthonie Palamedesz, Dirck Hals, and Pieter Codde.more...
